Any applicant who is under final consideration for hire will

  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Be a high school graduate, or have obtained a GED (you must submit a copy of documentation);
  • Sign an affidavit of Ohio residency and felony charges/convictions reporting requirements;
  • Submit to a BCI check (finger printing) if residing in Ohio for at least the last five years, or an FBI check if residing outside of the state of Ohio at any time during the past five years;
  • An Ability Works, Inc. employee performs jobs that are fulfilling as well as suited to their own interests and abilities.Submit to a Department of Motor Vehicles check (you must be insurable by our auto insurance carrier to operate our vehicles, and you must have less than six points against your license);
  • Not be listed on the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Abuser Registry;
  • Not have an adverse listing on the Ohio Department of Nurses Aides Registry;
  • Submit to the request of a local police/sheriff's report;
  • Undergo drug testing;
  • Undergo an ODOT physical (required for direct care positions, or direct supervision of direct care);
  • Provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States (you must have the documentation necessary to complete an I-9 form);
  • Have the ability to become certified in Adult Services (occurs through our facility); and
  • Become CPR/First Aid certified (training is through our facility).
