Summer Youth Work Experience

Join us for a hands-on work experience this summer! This 5-week paid program is designed to assess and build workplace readiness skills by providing you with a paid opportunity to experience the schedule, tasks, and expectations of a typical part-time, entry-level job in your local community. Our job coaches will be on-site to train and guide you throughout the day.

 

We offer Level 1 and Level 2 work sites to meet a wide range of workplace readiness skills

Erie County

Back to The Wild

At this indoor/outdoor wildlife rehabilitation center, you will assist in the regular care and cleaning tasks needed to help recovering wildlife make their way back to the wild. Work tasks include cleaning duck and geese habitats, bathing turtles, assisting with feedings, and general facilities cleaning.

Boots to Grasses

Expand your knowledge on the care of horses and other small animals at Boots to Grasses Therapeutic Horsemanship farm. Duties include cleaning out horse stalls and animal cages, feeding and grooming horses and small animals, light gardening, and other general cleaning tasks

Erie County Dog Kennel

The Erie County Dog Kennel needs you to assist with their day-to-day operations necessary to help dogs find their fur-ever home. Duties include cleaning out kennels, assisting with grooming and feeding, walking and socializing dogs, filing dog-tag applications, and general facilities cleaning.

Save-a-Lot

Save-a-Lot in Sandusky will provide you with a taste of retail, stocking, and customer service work with shorter work days than our other retail sites. Duties will include stocking and facing shelves, cleaning and organizing displays, retrieving carts, and general cleaning

Sawmill Creek Resort

At this newly renovated golf resort and conference center, you will experience the job tasks and duties of a housekeeping attendant to assist in keeping rooms and common areas clean and enjoyable for resort guests. Duties will include making beds, transporting linens, and cleaning bathrooms and common areas

Sandusky County

Bassett's Market

Gain retail and customer service experience at Bassett's Market in Bellevue! Duties include stocking and facing shelves, cleaning and organizing displays, bagging groceries, retrieving carts, and general cleaning

Sandusky Co. Dog Warden

The Sandusky County Dog Kennel needs dog lovers eager to work with four-legged friends! Duties include cleaning out kennels, assisting with brushing and feeding, walking and socializing dogs, and general facilities cleaning.

Share and Care

Share and Care of Fremont has something for every one among its thousands of treasures. At Share and Care, you take items through the donation process- from boxes to shelves, and onto their new homes! Duties include sorting and cleaning donations, hanging clothing, and general store cleaning

Huron County

Miller's Market
Gain retail and customer service experience at your local grocery store! Work tasks include stocking and facing shelves, cleaning and organizing displays, washing and bagging produce, retrieving carts, and general cleaning

Salvation Army
Help the Salvation Army with their summer lunch service and other community programs! Duties include sorting, prepping, and boxing meals, assisting with meal delivery to satellite locations, general facilities cleaning, and assist with other duties as needed

Lorain County

Second Harvest Food Bank

Come out to Second Harvest and help one of the largest food banks in Ohio feed those in need! Duties include loading and unloading donation trucks, sorting and organizing food products, packaging donations, checking expiration dates general facilities cleaning

The Friendship Animal Protective League

Come out to the Friendship APL to assist with their many cats, dogs, and other small animals! Duties include cleaning and sanitizing cat and dog kennels, cages, litter boxes, and other materials, cleaning and filling food and water bowls, laundry, walking and playing with dogs, socializing cats, and general facilities cleaning.

YMCA French Creek

Its fun to stay at the YMCA! At the YMCA French Creek, you will help to keep facilities safe, clean, and fun for everyone through the job duties of custodial staff. Duties include general facilities cleaning, light groundskeeping, and event set-up and clean-up.

Marc's Supermarket

At this local supermarket and pharmacy chain, you will assist with tasks necessary to keep the store clean, safe, and stocked! Duties include stocking and facing shelves, pricing items, cleaning and organizing displays, cart retrieval, and general cleaning.

Ottawa County Sites

Ward Catering

At Hotel Lakeside dining room, you will assist Ward Catering with the daily tasks needed to keep their delicious breakfast and lunch service running! Duties include rolling silverware, washing dishes, and assisting with buffet setup and cleanup.
