Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for fulfillment of mission, vision, and values by demonstrating respect, and promoting a positive culture.
Assist individuals with disabilities to engage and progress towards independence in their community through the Start Toward Emerging Possibilities (STEP) and Teleservice supports.
Create and implement a monthly calendar to support individuals authorized for STEP and Teleservices including but not limited to volunteerism, community memberships, civic opportunities, personal relationships, independent living skills, employment skills, and other avenues as identified by individual interests and desires.
All support activities must be outcome focused to meet the needs of the individual.
Ensure client supervision, health, safety, development, and quality of care according to client's Individualized Service Plan (ISP) or other care plan.
Encourage and foster individuals’ preferred goals and interests.
Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals’ many daily living needs including but not limited to: nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication and socialization skills.
Help set individual goals and track client progress, noting any drastic changes; report findings to superiors.
Develop meaningful relationships and connections with your clients to make them feel cared for and included in the community.
Assist clients with medication administration to insure compliance with written physician orders.
Comfortable working independently and can consistently make good decisions that benefit the client.
Flexible, with a keen ability to handle stress well.
A friendly disposition with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
Computer literate and technologically savvy.
Experience tracking and recording information.
Can quickly manage stressful situations responsibly and effectively

Attend continued education courses, training and get further certified as the job requires.

Minimum Qualification includes:
Must be 18 with a copy of a High School Diploma or GED
CPR/AED Certification
First Aid Certification
Valid Driver’s License
Current proof of Auto Insurance
Must be able to pass Criminal, OAC 5123:2-2-02, and Driving Background Checks
May be able to pass company ODOT physical
Must be able to pass drug testing
Must be able to pass and maintain all certification/training required by the Department of Ohio Developmental Disabilities
Must be able to attend training as required.
Essential Functions:
Ability to to lift 10 pounds consistently, 20 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally.
Able to conduct a two person lift or transfer up to 175 pounds. Conduct a transfer of a person from wheelchair to shower to bed. Bathe and or lift clients.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, squat, bend and twist, stoop and physically maneuver to properly secure clients and wheelchairs in vans for transport.
Ability to operate and properly use hoyer lift, glucose monitor, client lifts/accessories, shower chairs and seats, other assistive devices to improve abilities and monitor overall health.
Use of technology and office equipment including: Windows Operating system, email, Microsoft Office Suite, fax, printer, Paychex system, Advisor/Bid system and other client records management systems.
Job Specifications (Characteristics to perform successfully):
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as scheduled to the needs of the clients.
Exhibit a high standard of client care.
Maintain objectivity in position in order to set appropriate limits while working with clients.
Work cooperatively and responsively with Ability Works Leadership to ensure optimal quality service delivery of clients.
